Ani DiFranco announces 2025 ‘Unprecedented S— Tour.’ Get tickets now

From February through June, Ani DiFranco played Persephone in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Hadestown.”

Next year, she’ll return to the stage on her solo ‘Unprecedented S—: The Tour’ that will send her to venues all over North America in support of her recently released album.

Toward the end of the 26-concert run, the “Both Hands” singer is slated to headline at Brooklyn Steel on Friday, April 18.

“They gave me my old job back, which is to say, I’m hitting the road again in the new year,” DiFranco shared on Instagram.

“Chances are, wherever you live, my band and I are comin to getchoo to play you some unprecedented s—…yeehaw!”

If you want to see the Grammy-winning Buffalo native live — and hear her innovative new record — tickets are available as soon as today.

Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘Unprecedented S—‘ shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale is Friday, Sept. 27.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Ani DiFranco new music

On May 17, DiFranco dropped her most recent studio album “Unprecedented S—.”

And, yes, while her lyrics do cover our “unprecedented times” head on, it’s really her free-form, experimental sound that is unprecedented here. Think a more restrained Kim Gordon or Melissa Etheridge letting her freak flag fly.

Notable cuts include the thumping “New Bible,” hair-raising Bon Iver-like “Spinning Room” and powerful anthem “Baby Roe.”

The one that’s going to stick with us most though has to be the fuzzed-out “Virus,” which zags every time you expect the song to move in a straight line. We can’t speak for other music critics but expect this to show up on our favorite songs of 2024 list.
