Biden-Harris Admin Offers Just $750 Each to Hurricane Helene Victims

The Biden-Harris administration announced it would distribute $750 to state residents whose lives were torn apart by Hurricane Helene.

The federal assistance will be administered through FEMA.

Vice President Kamala Harris made the announcement during a visit to Augusta, Georgia, which saw the worst of the hurricane.

She also praised Georgia Governor Brian Kemp for his efforts to assist residents affected by the hurricane, which has wreaked havoc on the Southeast, downing power lines, leaving residents unable to communicate, and blowing rooftops off of homes.

“I want to thank the governor for his leadership and his close coordination with the federal government, with our administration,” Harris said.

“And I want to thank the local leaders for together, creating a task-force-like response, knowing we are at our best when we work together and coordinate resources, coordinate our communications to the maximum effect for the community that has been impacted,” she added.

Harris announced that President Biden had approved Gov. Kemp’s request for 100 percent federal reimbursement for costs to impacted communities, adding that residents could apply to receive $750 from FEMA.

The Post Millennial reported:

“Shortly after the $750 in aid had been announced, the Democratic candidate was relentlessly mocked on social media over the “low” amount being offered to American taxpayers, with recent reports from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas revealing that FEMA doesn’t have enough funds to make it through hurricane season.

Some have questioned the Biden administration’s decision to provide billions of dollars to foreign countries like Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, as well as aid to illegal immigrants, while American residents were offered so little.”

Last week, Former President Donald Trump raised over $2 million to help hurricane victims, while Biden said there wouldn’t be more resources coming and instead asked the public to donate.

The Trump campaign launched a GoFundMe page after the former president visited Georgia, where he toured hard-hit areas left in Helene’s wake.

“With so many across the Southeastern U.S. facing challenges after the storm, President Trump is on the ground in communities to see the aftermath firsthand,” the page states.

“All donations will be directed to help those most affected by Hurricane Helene. Any level of generosity will go a long way for your fellow Americans who are suffering.”

Trump criticized the federal response to the disaster.

“Our hearts are with you and we are going to be with you as long as you need it,” he said, flanked by a group of elected officials and Republican supporters.

Meanwhile, Biden claimed that Trump was “lying” about federal contact with Georgia officials during the response.

“I don’t know why he does this,” Biden said.

“I don’t care about what he says about me, but I care what he what he communicates to people that are in need. He implies that we’re not doing everything possible. We are. We are.”
