Fox News host Greg Gutfeld referred to the ABC News-hosted presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump as a “DEI debate” due to one-sided “fact checking” and clear bias displayed by moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis.
Muir and Davis frequently interrupted the former president in order to respond with “fact checks” that were oftentimes not even true. The moderators falsely claimed that full-term abortion is not legal in any state, dismissed police reports on pets being eaten by illegal aliens in Ohio, said footage of Nancy Pelosi claiming responsibility for January 6 was not true and falsely claimed that Trump lost every court case after the 2020 election.
As for Harris, she was allowed to get away with multiple lies, including the claim that police officers died on January 6, the “very fine people” hoax and Trump’s support for an abortion ban, among other things.

On Wednesday, Gutfeld responded to the one-sided debate performance during the latest installment of “The Five.”
“Well, I don’t know who won but I know who lost it was the American people You know, you could say if you complain about the refs you’re losing Well, if the refs are corrupt, you’ve got a complaint because everybody lost,” Gutfeld said. “I felt like my brain was being waterboarded by the sheer nonsense of these idiot moderators.”
While moderators have been biased against Trump in past debates, Gutfeld noted that the mechanics of the debate took attention off of them in the lead-up to the event.

“I honestly don’t know how anyone can decide who won the debate. That’s like trying to guess the price of a painting that you suspect is a forgery. You can’t objectively decide a winner in a sham competition. This is truly the first DEI debate where one candidate was subjected to a high standard and the other was held to no standards at all,” he continued.
“They removed the essence of fairness to achieve an outcome that could not be scored. You cannot score that. That is why you can’t say who won or who lost. A liberal should be ashamed that your candidate needed the odds to be stocked so heavily in their favor.”
