Justin Timberlake pleaded guilty Friday in a Hamptons court in the case accusing him of driving drunk, blowing through a stop sign and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test after.
The 43-year-old pop singer pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of driving while alcohol impairedin Sag Harbor Village Justice Court Friday morning instead of the more serious charge of driving while under the influence.
Justice Carl Irace sentenced the “Sexy Back” singer to community service and said he needed to issue a public statement – which Timberlake was set to read out shortly after court Friday.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney has insisted that the NSYNC star was not receiving special treatment, noting it’s a plea that has been offered in other cases.
Timberlake was pulled over in the early hours of June 18 after he allegedly blew a stop sign and was swerving out of his lane. He then allegedly refused three times to take a Breathalyzer test.
