These sisters won’t let anything come between them — except 14 eligible bachelors.
Nina and Tara Zafar are the first siblings to compete on “Love Is Blind,” and The Post sat down with them ahead of the Season 7 premiere on Oct 2.
The Zafars, who grew up in Boston, said they didn’t reveal their sisterhood at first to the men on the Netflix show — where singles date each other through walled-off pods, never seeing what the other looks like until after they’re engaged.
“We kind of decided that we wouldn’t have a fair shot if we went in and immediately told everyone that we were siblings because then obviously they’d get weirded out and choose one of us over the other,” explained Nina, 32, a Washington Post social media editor.
“We didn’t disclose it at the beginning, but at some point, we had to.”
Things got a bit complicated at the start, when the sisters liked the same guys.
“In the beginning, there were a couple of guys that matched on both of our lists. But it actually did sort itself out pretty quickly,” said Nina, who was with her college sweetheart for over eight years until they broke off their engagement in 2022.
“Our top five was almost the same, maybe a little different order and maybe one less person. And then a day and a half later, it was completely different,” added Tara, a 29-year-old marketing manager, whose most recent relationship, which lasted just over two years, ended in 2022.
Nina said dating without seeing what the other person looks like proved more difficult for her than her sister.
“I’m definitely more picky than Tara. I think physical is much less important for her than it is for me. So I already knew going into this that I was gonna be a difficult case,” said Nina, laughing.
The women — who have two cats, Cashew and Phoebe — also listed their deal breakers.
“Not getting along with my family, not liking cats or animals. Someone that is self-absorbed,” Nina said.
“Mine are quite literally the same,” Tara added. “If you don’t like cats, absolutely not.”
The sisters, who live together in Washington, D.C., never actually applied to be on the show — a casting director reached out to Nina via Instagram to see if she was interested.
“And then when I had the initial conversation with the producer, Tara was in the apartment with me,” Nina explained.
“And I was obviously talking a lot about her in my interview, and he was kind of like, ‘Is she single?’”
The pair revealed their parents’ reactions to them joining the series.
“Our mom was actually a lot more supportive than I thought she was going to be. She was like, ‘Great idea. Let’s do it,’” Tara said.
Added Nina, “Dad’s only concern was, ‘Is it a make out show? Is it a bikini show?’”
