Trump prays on stage, thanks God for saving him from two assassination attempts

Former President Donald Trump went full televangelist during a campaign appearance in Georgia Tuesday, praying on stage and thanking God for sparing him from two assassination attempts in recent weeks.

“That was a lucky one,” the 78-year-old said during remarks in Savannah while reflecting on a July 13 attempt on his life during a rally in Bulter, Pa. “But maybe not lucky.”

The 45th president then pointed at the sky and said “right up there,” before mouthing “thank you” and clasping his hands together.

Trump was shot in the right ear by 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, who also killed rallygoer Corey Comparatore and wounded two others.

“My two [adult] sons are great shooters and they said, ‘Dad, from 130 yards, a bad shooter couldn’t miss with that gun,’” Trump told supporters.

The former president reiterated his praise of a chart of immigration statistics that he turned to look at seconds before Crooks opened fire, preventing more serious injury or death.

“I have a chart that’s my all time favorite,” Trump said.

“I love that chart, I sleep with it every night. I kiss it,” he went on, opening his mouth in a faux smooch.

“If I didn’t look to the right, I wouldn’t be here with you today, I guarantee you that,” Trump added as the crowd cheered.

The Republican nominee also discussed the second failed assassination attempt, which took place Sept. 15 at his eponymous golf course in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Suspect Ryan Wesley Routh fled the scene after a Secret Service agent spotted the barrel of Routh’s gun poking through the brush off the 6th green and opened fire.

“This guy [the agent] was no games, and he was walking down the middle of that fairway, and he’s looking over and what does he see?” Trump recalled. “He sees a rifle, just a small part of a very big weapon, and you see the barrel coming out of very heavy shrubbery.

“I’m telling you, that’s — God was watching there too, because you needed somebody really sharp.”

“They only go after consequential presidents,” Trump concluded. “We are consequential. We’re going to be even more consequential because we’re going to do things that nobody has ever been able to do in this country.”
