Washington Post Suddenly Warning Voters to ‘Expect Delays on Election Night’

Left leaning news outlet The Washington Post is now warning voters to prepare for potential delays in learning the final results on election night.

According to the Post, the “complex landscape of mail-in voting,” the volume of ballots, and state-specific regulations could result in a repeat of the 2020 election.

It goes on to add that voters may experience an intense wait in key battleground states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The article also highlights these crucial swing states, which could ultimately decide who wins the election, could see a delayed vote-counting process.

Election officials are now warning that results could take days to finalize.

Another factor affecting potential delays is the restriction on processing mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin due to prohibiting the counting of mail-in votes until polls close.

The rule could create a bottleneck effect in urban centers where a high volume of mail-in ballots is expected.

Staffing has now been ramped up to handle the influx of ballots.

The Post urges voters to be patient due to the meticulous nature of vote counting.

Adding to the complexity of vote counting, a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling determined that mail-in ballots without accurate dates could be disqualified.

Meanwhile, increasing concerns about postal service efficiency due to lost or delayed ballots continue to loom over the process.

In the 2020 election, Democrats dominated the mail-in ballot count with a whopping 18 million Democratic ballots cast by mail compared with the 10 million Republican ballots.

Election officials are now emphasizing that accuracy trumps speed and that a transparent counting process is crucial.

Another disruption to the election result is already being seen following reports of suspicious packages containing white powder sent to election offices.

As we reported over the weekend, Thomas’s office said the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) was fist to flag the suspicious envelopes.

“About envelopes containing an unidentified white powder that were sent to and received by elections offices across the country,” her office confirmed.

The packages were sent to states such as Mississippi, Nebraska, and Wyoming.

Mississippi’s Secretary of State’s Elections Division said there is no indication that the substances may pose any danger.
