WATCH: Bernie Sanders Makes Stunning Admission About Kamala Harris And Her Far-Left ‘Ideals’

“Meet The Press” host Kristen Walker asked Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) whether he was concerned about Vice President Harris’ campaign and her pivots away from a number of far-left policy goals in recent weeks.

Welker noted that Harris has long been described as a “progressive” who has backed a number of the most far-left policy platforms endorsed by Democrats, including healthcare for illegal aliens, a path to citizenship for illegal aliens, a ban on fracking, imposing limits on meat consumption and much more.

“She has previously supported Medicare for all, now she does not. She has previously supported a ban on fracking, now she does not,” the NBC host pointed out. “These, senator, are ideas that you have campaigned on. Do you think that she is abandoning her progressive ideas?” Welker then asked.

“No, I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals,” Sanders said without hesitation. “I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election. My own view is slightly different.”

Harris has been making a massive effort to appear more moderate in her limited interactions with the press. In the nearly 50 days since Harris became the de-facto Democratic Party nominee, Harris has sat for just one pre-taped, 18-minute interview with a friendly outlet in CNN. She has yet to hold a single press conference and has seldom taken questions from the press.

On the policy front, Harris has yet to release a formal platform with early voting starting in the next few weeks. While the vice president has advanced a number of far-left positions — such as price controls on grocers and massive cash payments to “first generation homebuyers” — leading Harris surrogates have conceded that her policies will be figured out after she wins re-election.

While Harris was once graded as the most far-left senator in America by a non-partisan watchdog group, she has balked on a number of positions in recent weeks. In one notable example, Harris has stated that she will not ban fracking and has condemned her own administration’s electric vehicle mandates. She has also come around on the border wall and has even taken credit for Trump’s wall construction in her own campaign ads.
