As Minnesota Governor Tim Walz seeks to sell the Harris-Walz ticket to the American people, he appears to be having trouble convincing members of his own family. In a series of damning Facebook comments, the Democratic candidate’s older brother, Jeff Walz, stated that his brother is not the “type of character” who should be making key decisions about the country’s future.
“I’m 100% opposed to all his ideology,” Jeff Walz said Friday in reference to the far-left governor. In addition to his opposition to his brother’s candidacy, Jeff also revealed that he is considering a public endorsement of former President Donald Trump’s White House bid. The statement was made in response to a Facebook user who urged him to immediately “get on stage” with Trump.
“I’ve thought long and hard about doing something like that! I’m torn between that and just keeping my family out of it,” Jeff Walz, who now lives in Florida, wrote in a Facebook post that has garnered more than 400 likes.

“The stories I could tell. Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future,” he added.
In addition to Jeff, Tim Walz, 60, has a sister, Sandy Dietrich, 63, who lives in Nebraska, where the Walz family is initially from. Another sibling, Craig Walz, was killed in a tragic accident when a tree fell on his campsite in 2016.
According to Jeff, he and his brother have not spoken in eight years. Jeff Walz further revealed that he was not even notified when his brother was selected as Kamala Harris’ running mate. “My family wasn’t given any notice that he was selected,” Jeff Walz wrote.

Jeff Walz’ icy relationship with his brother was discovered when conservative journalist Laura Loomer discovered a Facebook post he wrote on March 30, 2023, which was the day Trump was indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in a highly dubious “hush money” case that has been plagued by political bias.
“We’ve just become a third world banana republic,” Walz wrote in the 2023 post, which has now notched more than 500 likes.
According to Federal Election Commission records analyzed by the New York Post, Jeff Walz is a registered Republican who donated $20 to Trump’s election campaign in 2016. There are no donations to his brother’s campaigns dating back to his time in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Jeff Walz told the outlet that he is not interested in doing any interviews.
