Talk about training camp drama … hot damn!
The Las Vegas Raiders recently announced that defensive tackle Christian Wilkins has been released from the franchise because of his slow progression after suffering a foot injury. However, insiders are reportedly saying that another reason could be an incident that took place in the locker room involving Wilkins and a teammate. Making an appearance Monday on “The Pat McAfee Show,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said insiders told him that Wilkins infuriated a teammate after he “playfully” kissed him on the head.
“From speaking to people inside the Raiders locker room…
They say that Christian Wilkins playfully went to kiss a teammate on the top of his head..
They say that player took offense to it and that’s what everybody has been dancing around”@AdamSchefter #PMSLive https://t.co/das6W3HesB pic.twitter.com/MGfjATaiNh

Wilkins had inked a four-year, $110 million deal with Las Vegas over the last offseason, with $82.75 million of that amount being guaranteed money. But the Raiders decided to release him and brand him a “terminated vested veteran,” sources told Schefter.
On top of that, the franchise also reportedly nixed the rest of the $35.2 million in guaranteed money that he was owed, making the claim that Wilkins’ injury rehabilitation hasn’t been making any progress.
“This franchise has a Commitment to Excellence on and off the field,” said the Raiders. “With no clear path or plan for future return to play from Christian, this transaction is necessary for the entire organization to move forward and prepare for the new season.”

The Raiders organization hasn’t publicly confirmed the alleged kiss. However, the NFL Players Association did reportedly file a grievance in Wilkins’ name … what a story.
