Republican Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett is recovering from an incident connected to a horse.
Burchett was “accidentally kicked by a horse” while working on his farm over the weekend, his office told the Hill.
The 60-year-old congressman sustained a broken rib and bruising from the incident, but has not altered his schedule, according to press secretary Will Garrett. He spoke at an event in Tennessee on Monday night and is expected to continue with a full slate of district events throughout the week.

“There have been no changes to his schedule,” Garrett continued. “He spoke in Maury County last night and has a full slate of district events throughout the week.”
However, despite those claims, Burchett canceled his scheduled appearance on The Hill’s “Rising” on Wednesday but has since rescheduled, according to a source familiar.
Burchett’s young daughter was hospitalized following a horseback riding injury in 2022.

“Count our blessings because she’s alive and that’s all we really care about,” Burchett stated in an interview with WBIR Channel 10.
“She’s a tough little girl she will be back on that horse.”
