Kate Bowman, the wife of former Maroon 5 member Mickey Madden, has filed for divorce from the bassist — two weeks after she accused him of sending explicit text messages to teenagers.
The fashion influencer, who boasts more than 40,000 Instagram followers, filed for divorce on Wednesday after just three months of marriage to the musician, TMZ reports.
Bowman cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, but did not provide a date of separation in the filing, the outlet adds.
The social media star, who was last seen in Los Angeles at the start of the month, is requesting spousal support. She has also asked the judge to prevent Madden, 46, from receiving any financial support.
It’s unclear if the duo had a prenuptial agreement in place prior to their May 6 nuptials.
The demise of the pair’s ill-fated — and very brief — union comes just weeks after Bowman accused the “Moves Like Jagger” musician of physically attacking her, in addition to sexting teens about a “rape fantasy.”
“He physically abused me,” Bowman claimed in court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. “I’m now terrified of him.”
After confronting him about the alleged text messages, she claims the bass player went “insane” and grabbed her arms before slamming her body against the kitchen counter.
“He pulled me to the ground and was out of his mind,” she noted in her filing. “I managed to move around and escape him, got up, and ran out of the house to escape him.”
Per the documents, Bowman rushed out of their Los Angeles family home, and the “Payphone” rocker chased after her while wearing only underwear and no shoes.
“He ran after me in his underwear and barefoot, caught up to me, shoved me against the gate, and then tried to grab me back to the house,” she added.
Bowman said she when she eventually managed to “escape” Madden’s alleged antics by running out on the street, the musician had “found [her] twice in different locations, physically abusing me each time.”
Her filing included several screenshots from her doorbell camera footage.
In the docs, Bowman says she didn’t recognize Madden and had never seen that side of him prior to that day.
Following their alleged blowout, Bowman stayed with a friend and claimed that the rocker had since apologized to her via text and handwritten letters, promising her he would check into rehab for his sex addiction.
A judge has since granted Bowman a temporary domestic violence restraining order, though denied her request to have Madden move out of their home.
She has also asked for custody of their Siberian huskies, Toast and Jam.
The exes will go to court on Aug. 20.
A representative or direct contact for Madden could not be located at the time of publication.
Madden’s legal woes come five years after he stepped away from the band following his arrest for an alleged domestic violence incident.
In 2016, Madden was also arrested on cocaine charges and accepted a conditional dismissal offer in exchange for one day of community service.
The rocker served as Maroon 5’s bass player for nearly 26 years, but left the Adam Levine-fronted band in 2020 after he was arrested in connection with domestic violence.
“I have some things that I need to deal with and address right now and so I have decided to take a leave of absence,” he said at the time.
“During this time, I do not want to be a distraction to my bandmates. I wish them the absolute best.”
