Sydney Sweeney’s Jugs (I Mean, Jeans) Show Conservatives Have Won

If you aren’t living in a bunker in northwest Montana, you’re probably familiar with Sydney Sweeney’s new ad campaign for American Eagle. If you do live in a bunker in northwest Montana, here’s a snippet

The left went crazy over the viral campaign. A blonde-haired, blue-eyed actress with “good genes”? This is Nazi propaganda! Even “Good Morning America,” a supposedly milquetoast program for normal Americans who don’t spend their days plugged into the internet, took the narrative bait, hook, line, and sinker.

But guess what? None of the outrage worked in the left’s direction. American Eagle’s stock price bumped up higher. The Nazi eugenics accusations fell flat. And, most tellingly, the company stood firm. No apologies.

“This is yet another example of how social media is just not reflective of real life. The absurd response from some corners of the internet is absolutely not reflective of how American Eagle’s customers feel,” an American Eagle rep told TMZ.

Bingo.

If this were five years ago, American Eagle wouldn’t have even contemplated putting Sweeney in an ad, along with a dad-joke pun on “jeans” and “genes”. If this were five years ago, the ad would have featured a morbidly obese pansexual transgender Afro-Latina ‘model’ stuffed inside denim like a fluffy pillow in a tiny pillowcase. Five years ago, American Eagle might have leaned into the BLM protests and cut an ad of masked-up left-wingers marching through the streets of Manhattan wearing jeans.

We are living in a different reality now than in 2020. A more conservative reality. As of now, the culture war is over.

Conservatives have won. Of course, there will still be occasional outbursts from deranged left-wingers. But the fury that once made an entire country bend down on one knee to worship George Floyd is now all bark, no bite.

I emphasize ‘as of now’ because, just as woke zealots were drunk on power and overplayed their hand in the Biden era, conservatives may face the same dilemma soon. Too much power can go straight to your dome. Nothing lasts forever.
