Twice-Failed Presidential Candidate Chris Christie to Teach Students ‘How to Run for Office’

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a twice-failed presidential hopeful, will teach students at Yale University how to run for political office.

You read that right.

The course, “How to Run a Political Campaign,” or perhaps, in Chrisite’s case, “How to Not Run a Political Campaign,” will give students the opportunity to gain “advice” from the former governor.

“Political campaigns in the 2020s are becoming more technology dependent, more confusing and difficult from a communications perspective and even more fraught with pitfalls and personal challenges,” the course’s description states.

“When deciding whether to run for any office, all of these issues must be confronted in addition to the core considerations of issue positions, fundraising, and the most important question of all: If I do win, what do I want to accomplish and what kind of leader do I want to be?” it adds.

“This course examines all of these issues with direct input from professionals who have confronted all of these issues and more as candidates themselves and the professional practitioners who help them to victory at the local, state, and national level,” the description concludes.

The course also provides Yale students with just one college credit.

Christie served as governor of New Jersey from 2010 to 2018 and as U.S. attorney for the Garden State from 2002 to 2008.

He also ran for president in 2016 and 2024 but failed miserably.

In 2016, he endorsed former President Donald Trump but did not support the former president in 2020 over his claims of voter fraud.

The announcement comes after Christie spoke to students at Yale in April.

“Leaders in our political system have abandoned the truth because it’s hard,” Christie said at the time.

“It’s what we’re seeing on both sides of the aisle and, to me, that’s not what leadership is supposed to be about.”

Earlier this year, Christie ended his presidential campaign while criticizing his fellow GOP rivals, including Trump.

“Campaigns are run to win,” Christie said then.

“That’s why we do them. It’s clear to me tonight that there isn’t a path for me to win the nomination.”

“My goal has never been to be just a voice against the hate and division and the selfishness of what our party has become under Donald Trump,” he added.

“I am going to make sure that in no way do I enable Donald Trump to ever be president of the United States again. And that’s more important than my own personal ambition.”

Christie’s new job at Yale University isn’t his first.

In 2021, he began working for the New York Mets and currently serves on the team’s board of directors.
